Painshill Park Surrey engagement shoot | Roshni Photography
Engagement shoot at the Painshill Park in Surrey
Jaydeep and Simran’s engagement shoot.
I really enjoyed the shoot here at the Painshill park in Surrey with Simran and Jaydeep.
It was such an easy shoot as the chemistry between these two was magic. SImran giggles away throughout the session and Jaydeep was only admiring how happy Simran was at the Park. We managed to use the full area of the location in the amount of time we had.
The couple had an outfit change mid way through to add more to the variety of the shots we had. We also managed to raise a glass of Champagne at the pop up bar in the Park.
Micro Wedding Photographer London Roshni Photography
Last month I was in Brick lane, Barbican and Angel area in London for an elopement. It was a dream come true as I am in London all the time and I finally got to photograph in this beautiful city I love. I mean who wouldn’t want a doughnut on their wedding day and a burger for dinner! It does not get trendier than this.
FAQs on Family Outdoor photography session
FAQs
Where will we take our family portraits?
I love working on a location, nature has so much to offer. I love taking seasonal images. Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer! such beautiful colors and flowers. I will set up a skype call and we will discuss this beforehand and select a location that you love. I tend to work mostly outdoors and in natural light, as it will give us a great variety of backdrops on nature we can use.
What should we wear?
Oh! you need to be just as comfortable as you can With little kids running around actively and getting dirty in mud you plan the outfits that you are happy to be walking around in. We do tend to stop and have one outfit change as this helps add more color to the shoot. I will also send you a Pinterest board to give you an idea of what to wear depending on the season we are in
What locations do you cover?
I travel up to a 50-mile radius from my place HA1, and have shot at places like Gunnersbury park, Painshill Park, Regents Park, Bushy Park Holland park, and many more!
We are looking for a mixture of candid and posed family photos. Can you do both?
Of course, I love the documentary style and capturing the images in a natural way. You cannot fake a natural smile! with kids, natural emotions are best captured when they are not aware of it. I take some posed images too, so if you have any poses in mind I am happy to incorporate.
When will our photos be ready, and how many will we receive?
The process takes up to 3 weeks, I edit the best 50 of the gallery and send over the link for you to choose from the batch. You can either choose 10, 20, or all. my packages are on the Family Prices page that will help you choose the best price for you.
Can we bring along the family pet?
Oh, I love pets, Dogs, Cats, Bunnies, please bring them as long as it is safe for them!
2020 YEAR ROUND UP FROM ROSHNI PHOTOGRAPHY
SO it’s been a crazy one right?
My 2020, or should I say our 2020 as we the members of this planet were all in this together. I started 2020 with hope and faith that I will get more than 30 weddings booked and will have a great third year in weddings. But it was all overturned. Yes, there were disappointments and frustrations, but also a chance to pivot my business into something else. Having done family photography and product photography, I turned to another genre of photography.
Personally being away for my family, alone in The Uk, i have been is a very different situation from most. Amount of times I wanted to hop on the plane and just travel back home are too many. I felt anxious for months as I was constantly thinking about my mother and my aunt who are at high risk. I was not prepared for anything like this. I have been away from my family for 16 years but this was different. Had all the support from my partner. Still feeling so alone and helpless as i could not go back home to look after them. Thank fully they all are doing well in all possible ways.
WEDDINGS IN 2020 in a nutshell
Some of the weddings that I really enjoyed this year :
Will and Hollie’s wedding at the St James’s Church- Gerrads Cross.
Booking this wedding in 2019, I was really looking forward to kicking off my 2020 business year with Will and Hollie’s wedding at the St James church at Gerard cross. THIS WAS THE ONLY FULL DAY WEDDING IN 2020!
I loved every moment of the day. Will’s father who conducted the wedding was absolutely amazing. The entire day was filled with love and laughter and speeches that brought tears to my eyes. Hollie’s dress was the highlight of my day and so was the car she rolled into.
Birhan’s wedding at the old Marylebone Town hall,
AND HERE IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED. A new era of weddings, a new way of living and adjusting to the new ‘normal’
A day before we went into lockdown. I was lucky enough to shoot Birhan’s wedding at the Old Marylebone town hall. We were just starting to learn how to social distance. That feeling of anxiousness whilst in public and on the underground was starting to sink in in a lot of us. The Wedding was a pretty small affair as only 15 people were allowed in the room. Talking to the management at the town hall, it seemed the weddings in march and months onwards were starting to postpone and cancel due to uncertainty.
Nikki and Paul’s weddings at the Beaconsfield Registry office
Nikki and Paul got married with even smaller number of guests…. only their parents. It was a really beautiful ceremony and we then went to The Waterside Inn,Ferry Road, Bray, Maidenhead
The day was so sunny and bright , perfect for a drink outdoors and a nice lunch .
Elise and Gisle’s weddings at the Danson House, Danson Park, Danson Road, Bexleyheath
Elise and Gisle are actually also doing their wedding vow renewals next year!. Which i really cannot wait for. I really had such a great time photographing this intimate affair at the Danson house, one of many small weddings i photographed , and the joy was just as vast for everyone present. We also had a live streaming on site for the families that could not attend the wedding. I am so honored I was the part of these beautiful moments even though the year did not turn out to be the way we desired.
York House Weddings
Wedding at the York House, Twickenham
Laura and Herbie got married at the York House in December just before the new years eve. Marking 2019 as their wedding year with their friend and family present. I had a pleasure shooting their wedding and I loved every bit of it.
Laura looked every bit gorgeous in her white backless dress with faux fur winter coat to complete the winter look. Herbie opted for a black tie suit with best men to match to black and white theme of the wedding.
Here are some images form the wedding which I am so excited ot share with you!
Top tips for having your Pets at your wedding,London Photographer
Top 5 tips if you are having your pets at your own wedding!
- Get a sitter for half day!. i am sure there will be someone in the family happily obliged to look after them, but you want everyone to have fun so get a professional to look after them.
- Include your fury babies at your bridal shoot. I love getting these shots as this will be the moments you will get to spend before you get hitched
- Have at least 3 people at 3 different times of the day to look after them. Its so easy for someone to get stuck with the doggies, but you want everyone to have fun equally. Have 3 people look after them at different times of the day so everyone get to get involved equally
- Have the doggies get ready with you before you put on your dress. My last bride had some time before she put on her dress to brush the dogs and put some bow ties and hair pins. They look absolutely gorgeous plus I got the capture these moments too!
- Are they going to be the ring bearers? How exciting! Have your bridesmaids escort them on the isle so they don’t go running free. This is was any last bride Jacquelyn did too. See her gallery here!

As the times are changing and evolving, there has been increased in Many couples booking small weddings until summer next year and have another reception next year in 2021. I have so many couples who have changed their plans this year.
This does not have to stop you and your family from marking your wedding in 2020. This Small Intimate wedding at the Old Marylebone Town Hall London proved we can still celebrate love in a smaller scale and then next year we can have a big celebration.

Family and couples Shoot while practising social distancing London
Family and couples shoot while practicing social distancing London
While we are now going to be practising social distancing to be safe the Family and couples shoot on locations such as your back garden or the park is the way forward!. Most of my shoots consist of me shooting from a distance and getting the shots we need
Most of us are self-isolating and making sure we take care of our family, parents, and grandparents as much as we can. Most of us are also lucky enough to work from home or have requested as you are taking care of someone at home. Kids are staying home and getting used to the new routine. The shoot takes place at a location or a park where we can maintain our distance and get the shot we need.
Couples who have got engaged during this period or have been living together for the first time ever can also take advantage of these shoots to remember this time.
I get so many questions asked while inquiring about the outdoors sessions so I have put together some FAQs here to make it easier for you
FQAs
THE PLANNING
To book your session I take £150 deposit and the rest is paid a week before to shoot. We decide on the location of your choice and meet at the car park or at the entrance of the location. The initial consultation call, we will be discussing how many members of the family you have, what you like, and if you like to go for a theme for the shoot. This really makes the shoot fun if you are wearing theme colors, bring props, or dress up your kids or pets.
WHAT IF THE WEATHER DOESN’T PLAY BALL ON THE DAY?
We simply reschedule… you have not seen my hair in the rain! I keep my date flexible so we can reschedule for a new date the day before. I tend to keep an eye on the weather for the days we have the shoot scheduled.
DELIVERY OF THE IMAGES
The images are sent to you via an online gallery ready to print yourself or order them directly from my store.. It’s pretty easy. The lab will send you the print directly so there is no human contact here too.
WHAT TO WEAR?
We will discuss this on the days coming up to the shoot and I also tend to send a Pinterest board full of ideas on what to wear. You can then decide on the color scheme you love and wear whatever you feel comfortable in.. As I said – some dressing up is also allowed for kids and pets! Some of my family shoots are can be found HERE
HOW WILL YOU BE SHOOTING?
I shot using a 200-700mm zoom lens so I can be as far away as I need to and shoot from a distance. The minimum distance for a full-length portrait is 3-meter maximum can be 10 meters…. So I got you covered! We can walk around keeping our distance and I can carry on shooting from a distance capturing your family having a great time out!
ROMANTIC CHURCH WEDDING AT ST JAMES CHURCH IN GERRADS CROSS – HOLLIE AND WILL
IF YOU LOVE SPARKLY THINGS THEN YOU’LL FIND SO MUCH INSPIRATION FROM THIS ROMANTIC CHURCH WEDDING!
Hollie and Will got married at the gorgeous St James Church, Gerrards cross. It was a super fun Romantic Church wedding, with so much color everywhere and an open bar to keep guests entertained.
The ceremony
The wedding took place in a beautiful church and was decorated with flowers, which was lovely. The ceremony included several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was a romantic occasion, full of lots of cheer.
After the ceremony, we had a confetti aisle, which I love doing, and I got some really special photos of the confetti moment. The weather at this Romantic Church wedding was springlike, but that didn’t put a dampener on moods.
The Romantic Church wedding
The reception was held in the ballroom. The venue is perfect for weddings because it’s so cosy and relaxed, and it’s got such a beautiful vibe, especially in the evenings when the sun goes down.
For the reception, the couple had organised delicious canapes for their guests, and everyone had so much fun. Guests were then called for dinner, which was a spit roast – it was delicious. A mix of Beef, Lamb, chicken roast, with Veggie options for someone like me.
The evening
After the speeches, guests tucked into the sweet table and had a go in the photo booth, and the dance floor was packed all evening. The Spotify playlist played all the best songs to get everyone dancing.
The evening ended with sparklers, which was incredible, and everyone had a great time. The whole Romantic Church wedding was so laid back, from the romantic vows to the last dance.
Advice for planning your wedding
The day was so beautifully planned, Hollie had her 4 bridesmaids to help her with getting ready and throughout the ceremony. The ceremony was held by Will’s father at their local church and the church were they met the first time too.
I really love this detail of the day as having your wedding at a place which has so much importance to you is absolutely amazing. Hollie was given away by 3 of her brother who in contrast to the couple is not at all religious and they were very respectful of all the readings and the songs are sung at the ceremony. The best part of the day was the speeches as you can imagine! 3 brother sharing their memories of their little sister were emotional and so joyous. My main memory of the speech was ” my mother had 3 sons and then decided to have Hollie to make sure she got it right the 4th time”. you can imagine the laughter in the room!
I loved this Romantic Church wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a wedding photographer, get in touch.
Here are Hollie and Will’s story in photos.

The Ceremony.
The Ceremony took place on time and we were able to capture all the amazing shots inside the church leading up to the confetti throwing at the end too. Have I told you I love a good confetti shot! Regardless if you are willing to get drenched in the dried flowers or paper confetti, these complete the ceremony of the day!
DIY, reception at the back garden of the house
There were so many DIY elements to the reception party for the day guests and the evening guest. A live band, lots of BBQ food and drinks bar. Love all these little details that were all made from scratch to bring the reception togehter.
