Mother's day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day gift ideas.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. Washington Irving

Mother’s day is the special time of the year when you get to celebrate the love you share with your mother and the best friend. Mother’s day is also a great time of the year to show all the women in your life how much to love them and how much they meant to you. If you are looking for gift ideas for your mother, sisters, grandmas, aunts and your friend I have some ideas below that may help.

With mother’s day just around the corner its time for us to think about what we are going to buy our mother to show her how much she means to us. To be honest nothing in this world will be enough to thank our mothers who brought us into this world.

Embroidery

I was searching for something authentic and handmade for my mother as a Mother’s day gift. My mother is a designer and does embroidery on clothes like Indian Sarees and dresses. When I was growing up I always had the best clothes to wear on my birthday, New years and all other special occasions. Some were hand designed handicraft and embroidered by my mother. So I started researching and came across Zodiac embroidery kits: Liberty London Embroidery

Here I found this beautiful embroidered zodiac design for my mother’s star sign. It looks so easy to make and I can embroidery myself when it arrives. The print and easy to follow instructions come with the kit. All you have to do it get started and get it ready for Mother’s day. Of course, my mother will love this as she will be proud I learned something from her after all.

Family lifestyle family session

Lifestyle family portrait session takes place at the comfort of your own home at you convenient time to ensure we get the most out of the session.

Writing about this family gives me joy and pleasure. Sonal approached me via a friend and we arranged a Life style portrait session to take place at her lovely house. The session was for little Anika who is now almost 6 months. I wanted to do a lifestyle style shoot at their house to capture the essence of love Anika has brought to the family.

On the day of the shoot I arrived at 11 am and quickly scouted out the house for the space we were going to use. I love their lovely second bedroom which has lovely white walls and ambient light coming through from the large window. Lucky it was a light cloudy day and sun was on the opposite side of the room. I took some fairy lights with me to capture some for the background and used the bed as the background. I really love how comfortable Anika and her parents were as we were in the comfort of their own home. The session was complete with the selection of portraits of Anika and her parents using different parts of the house. I took some fluffy blankets to use as backdrops which blended in pretty well with the beautifully painted walls of the room.

This session was one of my favorite as to I was able to be a part of the family for a short period and capture the joy and love of the Family. My favorite shots are ones of Anika’s feet and her sleeping with her favorite bunny. She only slept for 10 minutes but I was able to capture some shots of her which turned out to be really gorgeous.

I really hope you like the selection of images of this session.

Family outdoors photo shoot Harrow and Hertfordshire

Children Outdoor Photographer

Winter Outdoors children styled shoot in Harrow

Ruby is one of the most talented models I have had pleasure working with. She was at the Harrow park at 8 am with her mum Lucy and was ready for the shoot. The most amazing feature is her Lovely Long red hair. I loved the natural curly in them and we instantly clicked. Ruby was ready for anything, She climbed a tress at one point, bear in mind it was -1and it was freezing. We stopped or so every minute to warm her up and get out hands warmed up too.

The Shoot in freezing cold!

Lucy brought a good collection of clothes which matched the mood of the time of the year and the early morning. I wanted dark with her hair being the main feature of the shoot. Lucy was very accommodating and knew exactly what we were looking for in the shoot!.

Family outdoors session at the Gunners bury Park

Family and Children Portraits at the Gunnersbury Park London.

The Planning

Seema got in touch via a friend who had their family session shot by me a month ago. Seema wanted some bold and vibrant colors in her shoot to capture the autumn colors. She loves red color as you can see from the final images. We started off with planning where the shoot location. Outdoor park in and around London offers such a great backdrop for the outdoor Family session. I sent over some examples and images of the park to Seema to see what she thinks. Seems was happy with Gunnersbury Park near North circular road in the end. We decided the shoot will take place at 12 at noon.

What to wear

Now, this is my favorite and most important part of the shoot. The images and the final outcome I had in mind was to use colors that complement the outdoors. Seema send me some examples of the clothes that would work well with the autumn theme.  I sent over some  Pinterest boards to Seema to see if she can find something similar to them  through this link: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/freesoul13/autum-winter-outdoor-shoot/

On the day.

I do love a good English weather..on the day we had lots of clouds with some spells of the sun.  The kids were wearing layers and feeling the cold crisp morning. Here is the final outcome of the shoot. I really enjoyed this session with Seema and her twins. they absolutely were a pleasure to photograph. One thing I enjoy the most about this family session is I get to bring them together in one photograph and make a new memory. We spend so much time with family and turning them into photographs to remember them by is the honor I have with my job!.

Outdoor sessions

I cover sessions for all seasons. My favorite ones are winter and spring but I love shooting outdoors in the sun, in bluebells, lavender, blooms seasons.

Wedding at Arnos Vale cemetery Bristol

The Wedding in Bristol

Laura and Scott’s wedding was in Bristol at a beautiful venue Arnos Vale cemetery. The wedding was themed with black feathers, skulls, mini van, burgers and chips and cocktails. A modern-day Fairy tale.
The days started at Scotts best man Leon’s place who had an amazing house full of fashion magazines and artwork hanging all over the house. Scotts boys Jude and Henry got ready together. The fun part of this Monet was getting Jude to wear the bow tie whilst he jumps up and down on the bed. Scott wearing a blue suit with a waistcoat and his great grandfather’s pocket watch which is not about 104 years old and still ticking.
We made our way to the venue to get all the shots of the decoration and the guest who arrived before Laura. We were able to capture all the little details that were included in the theme by the Maid of Honor.

The First Song

Laura  walked down the aisle to the song  ‘thousand years’  by  Christina Perry and it made all the guest including myself wel up.  Honestly, that is one of my favourite songs.

These the moment that truly gets to me. The happiness in everyone’s eyes was unmissable. Laura was wearing a beautiful white dress and her most adored converse shoes. The mum gave Laura away as the ceremony commence and Scott and Laura took their vows.
The day went one with guest enjoying the beautiful outdoor venue and the burgers.
It’s was a mesmerising day full of joy, hope and new beginnings for Scott and Laura I wholeheartedly wish Newlyweds all the luck in the world and happy and long married life. Lots of love

Surprise Bridal Shower Froyle Park Country Estate & Hotel in Alton, Hampshire‎

A Surprise bridal party for a beautiful bride-to-be at the Warley Park Golf Club

My first ever bridal shower, where I actually learnt what these girls get up to. Toilet roll bride game, musical chairs of course, 20 questions, Charades,. the day was sunny and bright so we manged to take some outdoors shots too. The cake was a lovely wedding dress with macaroons and lots of skittles and sweets. For sure everyone was hyped and overloaded with sugar. The girls had so much fun that documenting their excitement and fun made it so more enjoyable. The bride was really surprised to see everyone under same roof as she thought she was going to have tea with her family.

The party was arranged for 1 pm and the birde to be was arriving at 1:30. I made my way before the arrival to make sure i get all the best shots of Loveleen’s surprised face. The venue caters for upto 500 guest and has an amazing outdoors venue neat the lake for evening parties and ceremonies. The patio on the gardens grounds is overlooking the lake and the beautiful sunset. As the afternoon went on the rain made it harde for us to get protraits outdoors, but we were lucky enough to grab a 30 monutes window as soon as the rain stopped.

My most enjoyable moment of this event was when the question time quiz started. the quiz was based on how well does the couple knows wach other, Of course the groom to be was not allowed  to come but we had all the answers from him pre party.
