FAQs on Family Outdoor photography session

Where will we take our family portraits?

I love working on a location, nature has so much to offer. I love taking seasonal images. Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer! such beautiful colors and flowers. I will set up a skype call and we will discuss this beforehand and select a location that you love. I tend to work mostly outdoors and in natural light, as it will give us a great variety of backdrops on nature we can use.

What should we wear?

Oh!  you need to be just as comfortable as you can With little kids running around actively and getting dirty in mud you plan the outfits that you are happy to be walking around in. We do tend to stop and have one outfit change as this helps add more color to the shoot. I will also send you a Pinterest board to give you an idea of what to wear depending on the season we are in

What locations do you cover?

I travel up to a 50-mile radius from my place HA1, and have shot at places like Gunnersbury park, Painshill Park, Regents Park, Bushy Park Holland park, and many more!

We are looking for a mixture of candid and posed family photos. Can you do both?

Of course, I love the documentary style and capturing the images in a natural way. You cannot fake a natural smile! with kids, natural emotions are best captured when they are not aware of it.  I take some posed images too, so if you have any poses in mind I am happy to incorporate.

When will our photos be ready, and how many will we receive?

The process takes up to  3 weeks, I edit the best 50 of the gallery and send over the link for you to choose from the batch. You can either choose 10, 20, or all. my packages are on the Family Prices page that will help you choose the best price for you.

Can we bring along the family pet?

Oh, I love pets, Dogs, Cats, Bunnies, please bring them as long as it is safe for them!

Family and couples Shoot while practising social distancing London

Family  and couples shoot while practicing social distancing London

While we are now going to be practising social distancing to be safe the Family and couples shoot on locations such as your back garden or the park is the way forward!. Most of my shoots consist of me shooting from a distance and getting the shots we need

Most of us are self-isolating and making sure we take care of our family, parents, and grandparents as much as we can. Most of us are also lucky enough to work from home or have requested as you are taking care of someone at home. Kids are staying home and getting used to the new routine. The shoot takes place at a location or a park where we can maintain our distance and get the shot we need.

Couples who have got engaged during this period or have been living together for the first time ever can also take advantage of these shoots to remember this time.

I get so many questions asked while inquiring about the outdoors sessions so I have put together some FAQs here to make it easier for you

To book your session I take £150 deposit and the rest is paid a week before to shoot. We decide on the location of your choice and meet at the car park or at the entrance of the location. The initial consultation call, we will be discussing how many members of the family you have, what you like, and if you like to go for a theme for the shoot. This really makes the shoot fun if you are wearing theme colors, bring props, or dress up your kids or pets.

We simply reschedule… you have not seen my hair in the rain! I keep my date flexible so we can reschedule for a new date the day before. I tend to keep an eye on the weather for the days we have the shoot scheduled.

The images are sent to you via an online gallery ready to print yourself or order them directly from my store.. It’s pretty easy. The lab will send you the print directly so there is no human contact here too.

We will discuss this on the days coming up to the shoot and I also tend to send a Pinterest board full of ideas on what to wear. You can then decide on the color scheme you love and wear whatever you feel comfortable in.. As I said – some dressing up is also allowed for kids and pets!  Some of my family shoots are can be found HERE

I shot using a 200-700mm zoom lens so I can be as far away as I need to and shoot from a distance. The minimum distance for a full-length portrait is 3-meter maximum can be 10 meters…. So I got you covered! We can walk around keeping our distance and I can carry on shooting from a distance capturing your family having a great time out!

Peckham engagement shoot

This adorable couple is so gorgeous and had me swooning over these images since I took them. It was a beautiful sunny day in Peckham, London and we decided to take a stroll through the spring blossoms. Bride to be Kennedy who wore a checkered dungaree and groom to be Datham in his double denim look looked ever so trendy and hip. Kenndey’s hair is absolutely to die for and this is one of my favorite pre-wedding shoots so far.

North London Enfield Family outdoors shoot at the Trent Park

North London, Enfield- Family Shoot in Trent Park

Autumn 2018 is truly settled and we have so many beautiful places to take family photos in North London and Trent Park is one of the great places to go. It’s perfect for couples, and families this autumn and winter. Overall in London I love photographing in North London, I am just biased as I live here!

Another thing about parks is you find so many different shapes of trees and plants, and do even get me started on the little streams and open spaces with skies as blue and clear as ones in these photographs

I find myself photographing around colorful greenery and bushes, These are perfect backdrop given to us from nature. In this particular session, we were able to use a long wooden tree that had fallen down to get a family portrait. I am pretty sure this will go on one of their walls in the house.

I love that my clients had planned this session with me well in advance as it was a wedding anniversary gift to their parents. I sent out my colour scheme and what to wear guide and the results were….well you can see below!.. Love the blues and whites against the clean green backdrops which only later in images, focuses on the families.

Children Photography

Ruislip woods Outdoors Family Photography shoot.

One of the greatest things I have been fortunate enough to enjoy is the beautiful parks and locations of North West London. I like to scout out the areas and give myself enough ideas on what areas to use prior to the shoots.
Ruislip has to offer a lot of different areas for the kids and families to enjoy the outdoors. The ones I really like are Ruislip Woods St Martin ’s, Shenley Park, Ickenham Green, Cavendish Recreation ground and Ruislip Lido.

This family’s shoot was supposed to start at 10 am but I got there at 9:30. Their house was only 5 minutes walk from the park. The park has a little area for slides and swings and another side of the park has beautiful colorful trees and grounds to sit and have a nice picnic.

The session took around an hour and plus we had some time for the kids to enjoy the outdoors. Here are some images from the shoot which I really love.

Mother's day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day gift ideas.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. Washington Irving

Mother’s day is the special time of the year when you get to celebrate the love you share with your mother and the best friend. Mother’s day is also a great time of the year to show all the women in your life how much to love them and how much they meant to you. If you are looking for gift ideas for your mother, sisters, grandmas, aunts and your friend I have some ideas below that may help.

With mother’s day just around the corner its time for us to think about what we are going to buy our mother to show her how much she means to us. To be honest nothing in this world will be enough to thank our mothers who brought us into this world.

Book your session for £99 and you will get 30 minutes of the short time at a location of your choice(can be near your house) and get 1 large print and 5 images – high res (print read) in return. Now framing your mothers and family’s portrait to mark this day is one of the best gifts a mother can have.  Have a look at the video below for some of my work. The shoot can take place anywhere in and around Harrow. Well, I am not too far from London at all. I can come to Edgware, Uxbridge, Stanmore, Pinner, Ruislip, Northwood, Northolt. Basically all the Greater London and London areas. To book the session simply click here

I was searching for something authentic and handmade for my mother as a Mother’s day gift. My mother is a designer and does embroidery on clothes like Indian Sarees and dresses. When I was growing up I always had the best clothes to wear on my birthday, New years and all other special occasions. Some were hand designed handicraft and embroidered by my mother. So I started researching and came across Zodiac embroidery kits: Liberty London Embroidery

Here I found this beautiful embroidered zodiac design for my mother’s star sign. It looks so easy to make and I can embroidery myself when it arrives. The print and easy to follow instructions come with the kit. All you have to do it get started and get it ready for Mother’s day. Of course, my mother will love this as she will be proud I learned something from her after all.

Harrow Recreation grounds outdoors shoot

Children Outdoor shoot near harrow

I love exploring the idea that I have in my mind and turn it into an image. The styled shoot is what helps me create my vision and improve at the same time. I believe with photography there is always room for improvement

The outdoor shoots

The shoot takes place all year round in all the seasons. Styled shoot allows me to explore the location and different types of light during the day. I tend to use Harrow recreation Ground often as it a great location for Kids and has amazing blooms all year round. Parents love this location as it is very open space and had great sunlight in summer.  I have had pleasure of working with some great parents who are really understanding and very cooperative.

 The concept:

When it comes to sending out a casting call for a themed shoot, I already have a theme in mind which I create a Pinterest board beforehand. This helps the parents to understand what is expected of them. My Pinterest board https://www.pinterest.co.uk/freesoul13/ is full of ideas and examples of different types of shoot I plan to work on. Deborah and Carrie (the mums) were more than happy to help out and their talented little girls were really a pleasure to work with. The shoot tool place in the afternoon on a Saturday which was very continent for both girls due to school commitments.

I sent this board https://www.pinterest.co.uk/freesoul13/christmas-outdoors/ to Deborah  and Carrie to see if they can chose something from their wardrobe for Iliria and Livvy to use on the shoot. With this examples both mums sent me the clothes they already have in their wardrobe.

Behind the scenes shoot.

When we are shooting the most fun I have is running after the girls and capturing the natural and relaxed poses. The girls were really easy to direct and had a great fun in this open space. The parents love this as they can sit and relax and watch me and the girls running around freely trying to get the shots. Both Illaria and Livvy are talented kids models who have appeared in series of castings lately for kids fashion.

Final Outcome.

Here are some of the images that  are the result of this styled shoot which both mums Deborah and Carrie absolutely loved. I am really glad that I worked with both Illaria and Livvy who made this shoot happen.

Winter Outdoors children styled shoot in Harrow

Ruby is one of the most talented models I have had pleasure working with. She was at the Harrow park at 8 am with her mum Lucy and was ready for the shoot. The most amazing feature is her Lovely Long red hair. I loved the natural curly in them and we instantly clicked. Ruby was ready for anything, She climbed a tress at one point, bear in mind it was -1and it was freezing. We stopped or so every minute to warm her up and get out hands warmed up too.

The Shoot in freezing cold!

Lucy brought a good collection of clothes which matched the mood of the time of the year and the early morning. I wanted dark with her hair being the main feature of the shoot. Lucy was very accommodating and knew exactly what we were looking for in the shoot!.

Family outdoors session at the Gunners bury Park

Family and Children Portraits at the Gunnersbury Park London.

The Planning

Seema got in touch via a friend who had their family session shot by me a month ago. Seema wanted some bold and vibrant colors in her shoot to capture the autumn colors. She loves red color as you can see from the final images. We started off with planning where the shoot location. Outdoor park in and around London offers such a great backdrop for the outdoor Family session. I sent over some examples and images of the park to Seema to see what she thinks. Seems was happy with Gunnersbury Park near North circular road in the end. We decided the shoot will take place at 12 at noon.

What to wear

Now, this is my favorite and most important part of the shoot. The images and the final outcome I had in mind was to use colors that complement the outdoors. Seema send me some examples of the clothes that would work well with the autumn theme.  I sent over some  Pinterest boards to Seema to see if she can find something similar to them  through this link: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/freesoul13/autum-winter-outdoor-shoot/

On the day.

I do love a good English weather..on the day we had lots of clouds with some spells of the sun.  The kids were wearing layers and feeling the cold crisp morning. Here is the final outcome of the shoot. I really enjoyed this session with Seema and her twins. they absolutely were a pleasure to photograph. One thing I enjoy the most about this family session is I get to bring them together in one photograph and make a new memory. We spend so much time with family and turning them into photographs to remember them by is the honor I have with my job!.

Outdoor sessions

I cover sessions for all seasons. My favorite ones are winter and spring but I love shooting outdoors in the sun, in bluebells, lavender, blooms seasons.
